Student Representative Council

What is Student Representative Council?

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) is student-based group designed to foster school spirit and leadership among students. The members of the SRC change each year to maintain a fresh approach and a strong student voice within the school. SRC members are elected by their classmates, and students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are members.

The role of the SRC is to promote a positive school environment. The SRC represent the voice of the students and form a part of the school leadership team. These students assist with significant student-led initiatives throughout the year as well as any daily responsibilities associated with their role. The SRC does not have the power to change school policies - only to voice student opinion. They meet fortnightly to discuss matters affecting students and solutions to these.

Students participating in the SRC will maintain a high standard of personal conduct. SRC members will demonstrate leadership qualities by serving as exemplary models of behaviour through their words and actions.

All SRC members will be expected to participate in approved activities, which will serve to enhance the quality of both the physical and behaviour environment of the school.

The Student Representative Council allows students to:

  • work as a member of a team
  • develop and build positive relationships, between peers and teachers
  • contribute to the school community
  • use their voice responsibly
  • value the perspectives and opinions of others
  • plan events and engage in fundraising
